Common Home Asia, FABC OHD-CCD newsletter features Asian Church voices on climate justice and in COP30

The December 2025 issue of Common Home Asia, the newsletter of the FABC Office of Human Development–Climate Change Desk (OHD-CCD), brings together voices from across the Asian Church, reflecting on climate justice in the wake of COP30 in Belém, Brazil.

Led by contributions from FABC President Cardinal Felipe Neri Ferrão and Vice President Cardinal Virgilio Pablo David, the newsletter addresses Asia’s frontline experience of the climate crisis — from intensifying storms and rising seas to the ecological toll of unchecked urbanization — while lifting up grassroots responses and faith-based advocacy.

Key themes include the ASEAN People’s Agenda for integral ecology and fossil fuel phase-out, the FABC’s proposal for an Earth Tariff to fund ecosystem restoration, the campaign to turn debt into climate hope, the disproportionate impact of climate change on women and Indigenous communities, community victories against fossil gas projects in Batangas, the invisible crisis of agrochemical water pollution in the Philippines, and Caritas Pakistan’s mangrove restoration work along the Arabian Sea — all framed within the moral vision of Laudato Si’ and a call to ecological conversion.
